One More Chance

Tripping and fumbling,
I looked for the way;
Intoxicated by the moonlight,
I stopped by the doorway.

The evening was long,
The night looked promising;
Couldn't think of a song,
My thoughts were tingling.

I saw him and I paused,
The moment truly deserved applause;
We did not speak much,
Were too far for a handshake or a touch.

Like a seductive Broadway set,
His eyes were too intriguing to forget;
Every look made me feel,
I am sitting by the beach, watching the sunset.

Very momentary, like a fragrant breeze,
The night deceived me;
Incidents were not destined,
As I thought they might be.

A deep desire for one more chance,
Will not let it go;
A game to my conscience,
Will allow romance to set the flow.

So many times, in our lives,
We miss one chance, wish it twice;
We believe in all the lies,
Such is the game of love, lust and disguise.

Life's Like That

When everything seems perfect,
I tend to forget I am not the subject.

My tender heart attempts to fly high in the sky,
Poor thing, doesn't know it has no wings.

I sit here thinking, life is in my grip now,
Funny! Every time it is I who has to bow.

If only one could predict happenings,
I swear, life is not full of stings.

Going gets tough when people become rough,
Perhaps for them love alone was never enough.

I turn around to see all that I have achieved,
That's the only moment I feel relieved.

Today I live on my own,
In His kingdom, for my throne.
More is to come, as a warrior I foresee,
Wishing to perceive all the wars with their beauty.

One-man's army, I still dare to live it,
Don't care if I'll be a total misfit.
With no pattern, no format,
Can't help! Life's like that!
